GANGTOK, (IPR): Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, accompanied by his
spouse Krishna Rai, graced the occasion as the chief guest at the special programme
for administrators on “Meditation for Stress-Free and Successful
Administration,” held today at Chintan Bhawan.
The
theme “Meditation for World Unity & Trust” seeks to awaken self-trust,
foster mutual understanding, and inspire global harmony through the transformative
power of meditation. By cultivating inner peace and reducing stress, this
practice encourages individuals to connect deeply with themselves and others,
paving the way for a more united and trusting world.
Social
Welfare minister Samdup Lepcha said that it was a pleasure to be part of such a
serene and meaningful event, where the primary focus is on meditation. He
expressed that meditation programs emphasising unity are truly commendable. He
extended his gratitude to the dignitaries who travelled from afar to guide the
attendees through the meditation sessions. He underscored that their speeches
and examples were profoundly inspiring, centred on fostering positivity within
ourselves and encouraging all to move forward with pure intentions. By integrating
meditation into our lives, we can bridge divides and cultivate a sense of
collective harmony, he added.
Krishna
Rai, in her address, expressed sincere gratitude to the organisers, the notable
dignitaries from across the country, and the distinguished administrators from
various government departments. She said that the session focused on how stress
impacts our professional lives and how meditation can help manage and overcome
it. She stated that stress is inevitable, but with the awareness and techniques
shared in this program, one can better handle it at a certain level.
Highlighting
the Brahma Kumaris meditation theme “Meditation for World Unity &
Trust" under which the meditation function was organised for the
administrators, she said the programme provided valuable insights and practical
tools to cope with the pressures of administrative duties.
She
emphasised that the Brahma Kumari Meditation Centres in Namchi, Mangan, and
various other locations across the State are contributing to societal well-being
through the practice of self-empowerment and inner awakening. She noted that
these centres are inclusive, welcoming individuals from all walks of life,
irrespective of caste or religion, and encouraged the public to undertake a
three-day course at their nearest centre. In conclusion, she expressed her
gratitude to all the dignitaries who generously shared their knowledge and
experience.
Faculty,
Om Shanti Retreat Centre Delhi, BK Vidhatri shed light on the guiding
principles for stress-free and successful administration. She said that it is a
proud privilege, a moment of deep gratitude and satisfaction to be present in
the beautiful State of Sikkim, often called the “great State of the
Northeast". She stated that they are also here to reflect on how meditation
can enhance the unity of our well-being and support administrators in leading a
strategic and stress-free administration.
She
emphasised that living a stress-free life is closely linked to fostering unity,
when unity and mutual understanding prevail, governance becomes smoother,
allowing leaders to focus solely on public welfare. Through a practical
exercise, she explained that creating a stress-free life begins with
simplifying the mind, as stress arises when the mind is disturbed from its original,
balanced state.
She
further noted that stress originates within us, and we should not blame others
for it. By practising meditation, she added, we can expand our inner capacity
to manage challenges without stress. She concluded her address by warmly extending
her gratitude to the Chief Minister of the State, along with her best wishes
for continued progress and harmony.
Similarly,
faculty, Brahma Kumari BK Veena, Sirsi (Karnataka) shared her valuable insights
of her experiences. She said that meditation is being recognised as the
defining feature of this century, while the 21st century was often called the
century of technology, the 25th century is being envisioned as the Century of
Meditation. She stated that in today’s challenging world, managing stress has
become a necessity, and meditation is emerging as an essential tool not only
for a successful life but also for successful administration.
She
underlined that meditation allows us to anchor our awareness within, making our
thoughts, feelings, and actions more harmonious and purposeful. She highlighted
that meditation practice observes two important realisations, Self-realisation,
the understanding of our true self and God-realisation, is the connection with
the universal truth or the divine. It is through meditation, that one can
cultivate simplicity and humanity, becoming truly human in spirit and action,
she added. She further expressed meditation is not merely a personal practice
but a universal tool for building a better future.
Likewise,
National Co-ordinator Scientist & Engineering Panipat, BK Bharat Bhushan
appreciated the leadership of the Chief Minister and the efforts of the
government in maintaining such a serene and disciplined environment. In his
speech, he mentioned that the International Day of Yoga is observed every year
on June 21, and emphasised that yoga and meditation are crucial tools for
achieving a balanced and successful life. He stressed that meditation and yoga
are not just activities but powerful methods for inner transformation and
stability.
He
further explained that negativity is very easy to catch, while positivity
requires conscious effort and practice. He stated that an administrator,
executive, or manager needs more than just technical skills, they need inner
calmness and clarity, which meditation can provide.
He
concluded by mentioning the upcoming Administrators’ Conference, scheduled for
September, and encouraged everyone to participate with enthusiasm, saying that
real administration begins with self-management.
Extending
the best wishes for the State’s Golden Jubilee, BK Harish, Mount Abu, Rajasthan
spoke on inspiration and invitation. He said that as we inaugurate the annual
theme: “Meditation for Unity and Trust”, this initiative aims to highlight the
transformative power of meditation in fostering global unity and mutual trust.
He
stated that meditation transcends religious and cultural boundaries and the
practice of meditation connects to our shared humanity reminding us that beyond
our individual identities, we are all part of a larger, interconnected family.
He pointed out that the initiative is not just about personal well-being, it’s
about societal transformation. By promoting meditation, we aim to nurture
leaders and administrators who are centred, compassionate, and equipped to
serve with clarity and purpose, he added.
He
extended gratitude to the Chief Minister and the people of Sikkim for their
warm hospitality and unwavering support.
Furthermore,
in-charge of the Brahma Kumaris Sikkim, BK Sonam Didi, expressed her heartfelt
gratitude to the chair, dignitaries, and attendees. She emphasised that
meditation is simple and only requires regular practice. She highlighted the
importance of focusing on positivity and experiencing the impact, attention,
and personal growth that meditation fosters. She encouraged everyone to embark
on the journey of meditation and to visit the meditation centres across the
State.
The
programme also had a practical meditation session guided by Zonal Co-ordinator
Administrator Wing Delhi, BK Laxmi.
During
the function, the organisers and the dignitaries from across the State
presented mementoes to the dignitaries and Godly gifts to attendees of the
function.
