Darap boy sets off on solo cycling expedition to promote fitness, raise awareness on Sikkim's declining fertility rate

GYALSHING, (IPR): The Darap village in Gyalshing district on Wednesday witnessed the flag-off of an extraordinary journey by Susil Limboo, a native of the area and an enthusiastic advocate of fitness and adventure.

Limboo is embarking on a 40-day cycling trip covering Sikkim, Nepal and Delhi. His 40-day journey aims to inspire individuals to embrace fitness as a lifestyle.

Driven by his passion for fitness, Limboo approached the District Collector’s Office for funding support for his journey.

In response, district collector Yishey. D. Yongda suggested a broader purpose for his adventure: raising awareness about “Increasing the declining Fertility Rate in Sikkim”.

The theme “Jansankhya Ko Vriddhi, Sikkim Ko Samridhi” addresses the pressing concern of Sikkim's declining fertility rate and its implications for the State’s long-term development.

Limboo readily embraced the idea floated by the DC, adding a meaningful dimension to his adventure.

The Office of the District Collector has extended its full support to Limboo by providing funding and guidance for his noble endeavour. The collaboration ensures that this unique journey carries a dual purpose: promoting a healthy lifestyle through fitness and drawing attention to an important demographic challenge faced by the state.

This remarkable initiative symbolizes the power of individual determination and community support in driving positive change.

The Gyalshing district administration has extended best wishes to Susil Limboo and encouraged everyone to follow his journey and support his cause.
