DARJEELING, : The newly renovated Darjeeling Holiday Home for workers was
inaugurated on Sunday by West Bengal Labour minister Moloy Ghatak here at Lal
Kothi Road.
Workers
can book rooms at the home at nominal rents to enjoy their holidays here with
their families. Bookings are also open for other guests at the holiday home of
the Labour Welfare Board.
State
Labour Welfare commissioner Sumita Mukherjee said, “This holiday home was
renovated and inaugurated today. It is especially meant for labourers but other
guests can stay here too. One of the plus points of this holiday home is that
people can enjoy the scenic beauty of the hills from this place with the view
of Kanchenjunga excellent from here.”
It was
informed that people can book the holiday home online with charges very
minimal. The rate is Rs. 100 per bed for the labourers and Rs. 300 per bed for
other guests.
The
Holiday Home has 13 rooms with two to four beds each. It also has an eight
bedded dormitory. Altogether, the home can accommodate 65 people at one go.
Gorkhaland
Territorial Administration Chief Executive Anit Thapa was also present in the
inauguration program today among other guests.
