residents in Rangpo, Bhoj Raj Rai, the minister for the Urban Development
Department (UDD), convened a meeting today at the Rangpo Nagar Panchayat (RNP)
office, accompanied by LB Das, MLA West Pendam.
The
primary agenda of the meeting was the acquisition of housing units in the areas
of Majhigaon and Goashkhan within Rangpo. Recognising the urgency and
importance of efficient housing allocation, the attendees undertook a
comprehensive review of the proposed list of new beneficiaries for
government-allotted housing. This process aimed at ensuring transparency and
fairness in allocation, prioritising families who are most in need and
deserving of this critical assistance.
Minister
Bhoj Raj Rai emphasised the necessity of robust measures to tackle the issue of
illegal occupancy within the housing colony. He instructed officials from the
UDD to take decisive and stringent actions against unauthorised occupants,
ensuring that immediate steps are taken to reclaim units that have been

distribution process, ensuring that those who are rightfully entitled to
housing can obtain it without hindrance.

needs of the region. Their site visit included thorough inspections of the
Majhigaonand Goashkhan housing colonies, where they actively interacted with
residents, listening to their grievances related to housing, infrastructure,
and essential civic services.
In
addition to housing issues, the team inspected the Ram Ghat area to deliberate
on potential improvements for better accessibility and maintenance, addressing
another pressing civic concern. They assessed the RangpoGoli Ground, evaluating
existing facilities and considering potential upgrades to enhance the ground
for sports activities and community events.
