One of the best careers in life is none other than joining
the defence forces as an officer and the best option is to appear in the
National Defence Academy(NDA) Examination and get selected and become an
officer at an early age and serve the nation. The best thing is that like boys
nowadays, girls can also choose to get admission in the prestigious NDA and
serve the nation as an officer. One must remember that to be an officer one must
be physically fit, mentally alert, socially active and also emotionally stable.
An Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service
Commission( UPSC) on 01st September, 2024 for admission to the Army,
Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 154th Course and for the 116th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing
from 2nd July, 2025. The total vacancy
this time including all services and for boys and girls is 404 and only
unmarried male/female candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2006 and
not later than 1st January, 2009 are eligible.
Educational Qualifications:
Ø For Army Wing of
NDA :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent
examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Ø For Air Force and
Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval
Academy :—12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2
pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board
or a University.
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical
standards for admission to NDA and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2024as per
guidelines. Candidates (excepting SC/ST candidates/female candidates / Wards of
JCOs/NCOs/ORs specified in Note 2 below who are exempted from payment of fee)
are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) either by
remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India by cash, or by using
Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking of
any Bank.
Candidates are required to apply online by using the website
upsconline.nic.in. It is essential for the applicant to register
himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the
Commission’s website, and then proceeds for filling up the online application
for the examination. Candidates should also have details of one photo ID viz.
Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo
ID/Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government.
The Online Applications can be filled upto 04.06.2024 till
6:00 PM. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card on the last
working day of the preceding week of the date of examination. The e-Admit Card
will be made available on the UPSC website (upsconline.nic.in) for being
downloaded by candidates. Candidates should note that there will be a penalty
(Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective
Type Question Papers.
