SILIGURI,: Defense minister Rajnath Singh today
criticized Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government for the
deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal.
Singh, who was in Siliguri for the
election campaign of Darjeeling BJP candidate Raju Bista, pointed out that
despite having a female Chief Minister, incidents like Sandeshkhali occur,
leading to insecurity among women in the State.
He said West Bengal is plagued by an
atmosphere of anarchy and widespread crime, citing attacks on investigating
agencies like the ED and CBI.
“I assure you that this time if the BJP
government is formed here, we will see who dares to repeat the incident like
Sandeshkhali,” said Rajnath.
Asserting the BJP's commitment to
development, Singh stated, "If any political party knows how to develop,
then that party is called Bharatiya Janata Party. Within 7-8 years of Modiji
becoming Prime Minister, 25 crore people in the country have been freed from
poverty.”
Singh concluded his address by
expressing Modi’s vision to develop West Bengal and suggested Mamata Banerjee’s
apprehension towards it.
