GANGTOK, :The auditions for
the first-of-its-kind Sikkim Students Sphere (S3) video podcast host, an
initiative of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Student Wing, were held here
today.
Among several participants from
across Sikkim, Hitesh Raj Gurung, EklaLimboo, SmritiTamang, and YongsonGurung
were declared winners.
The four of them will host the
video podcast, which is scheduled for monthly release.
A logo-making competition for
S3 was also held, where PhurbaDomaLepcha, AnushikaSubba, and AbhinayTamang were
shortlisted as the top three.
The winner of the logo-making
competition will be announced later.
The jury panel included SIKKIM
EXPRESS editor Amit Patro, NE Live State correspondent Prakash Adhikari, SKM
Students Wing president Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, vice president BhimKumari
Sharma, coordinator Dr.NeerajAdhikari, convenor NosangLimboo, general secretary
RewajChettri, spokesperson Sanjay DilpaliRai, and Tirtha Rai.
The participants of the podcast
host were evaluated based on their presentation, voice modulation, presence of
mind, time management, confidence, and quality of content.
With the theme ‘Voices of
Tomorrow, Stories of Today,’ the podcast is an initiative of the SKM Student
Wing, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister PS Golay and MLA Aditya
Golay.
The future is in your hands,
and the podcast aims to highlight your stories, engage, and bring awareness
among the student’s fraternity and public at large,” expressed president
Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha.
He further informed that an
online audition was conducted via social media, and the selected participants
were invited for the physical audition held today. One episode will be released
every month. A training will also be conducted for the four hosts shortlisted
today.
SIKKIM EXPRESS editor Amit
Patro congratulated the organisers as well as the participants, “Such
initiatives are much needed in this era. All the participants were equally
talented, and my suggestion to the podcast hosts would be
to read and stay up-to-date with the current affairs. I am looking forward to
watching the podcast,” he said.
Patro further urged the
organisers to make the S3 video podcast a yearly affair and also suggested the
organisers conduct capacity-building workshops for students.
Prakash Adhikari also urged the
students to build a reading habit and urged the logo designers to not use AI.
Rewaj Chettri informed that the
SKM Student Wing is focused on making students ambitious as they are pillars of
tomorrow.
