SILIGURI, : Sikkim Chief Minister PS Golay has said the Sikkim government will
soon expose the mastermind and those provoking Samson Tamang for disrupting
communal harmony of communities living in Sikkim and Bengal.
Samson
allegedly posted a hate speech against the Khas community on social media last
month. Multiple FIRs have been registered against him in Sikkim police
stations.
The
Chief Minister was in Siliguri on Friday morning for a pre-scheduled
inauguration event.
Asked
about allegations by opposition parties regarding on delay in arresting Samson,
the Chief Minister informed that the Sikkim Police has been directed to take
appropriate action against the accused.
Since
he belongs to another State there is a slight problem to find him but Sikkim
Police is working hard to arrest him, said the Chief Minister in response to
questions asked by the media at Siliguri regarding the Samson Tamang case.
“We
are not silent and trying our best to arrest him. It is easy to blame the
government but I will soon expose those persons who are involved in the Samson
Tamang case,” said the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile,
Sikkim Police is trying to trace the location of Samson in various areas at Bagdogra,
Naxalbari, Khoribari and other areas where the accused used to stay previously.
On
other hand, GTA chief Anit Thapa on Saturday has submitted a written complaint
letter to Darjeeling SP Praween Prakash seeking immediate police action against
Samson Tamang for his hate speech on social media.
Samson’s
statements against the Chettri-Bahun community not only promote division but
also pose a serious threat to the social harmony and fabric of GTA region, said
Thapa.
His
actions warrant immediate arrest to prevent further damage and ensure that
communal harmony is preserved, said the GTA chief executive.
