Another four goals from Simran help Sikkim crush Tripura 6-0

GANGTOK,: Emerging striker Simran Gurung scored another four goals as Sikkim crushed Tripura 6-0 in their match on Tuesday in the ongoing 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship at Agartala.

Previously, Simran had scored four goals to help Sikkim defeat Gujarat 4-1 in their opening match of the championship on October 20.

Altogether, Simran has netted eight goals in just two games.

In the match against Tripura, Simiran’s clinical finishing gave Sikkim a strong lead early on, while Laxmi Tamang and Prita Chettri each contributed with a goal to solidify the team's dominance.

The host State Tripura struggled to break through Sikkim's solid defense and couldn't match the pace or precision of their opponent, informed the Sikkim Football Association (SFA).

Sikkim's cohesive play, anchored by Gurung’s brilliance, resulted in a clean sheet and a convincing victory.

The team now moves forward with a strong momentum, looking to continue their winning run with more confidence to face Chandigarh in the final match of the group stage on October 24.

A win in the final match will result in Sikkim topping their group stage and qualifying for the final round, informed the SFA.
