GANGTOK,: A 30-day coaching programme for Class X students preparing for
their upcoming board exams under the Chief Minister’s Mentorship Programme
commenced Monday in Pakyong district. The coaching sessions are being held at
30 centres across the district, covering 38 senior secondary and secondary
schools, informs a press release.
The
centres have been identified and finalised based on the enrolment of students
attending the coaching. Some schools have been clubbed with nearby schools to
ensure effective coverage.
Among the
centres, PM SHRI Rangpo, PM SHRI Tikalal Niraula SSS, Central Pendam and PM
SHRI Rhenock SSS are hosting two centres each, while the remaining schools will
have one centre each in the identified locations. The principals/headmasters of
these schools have been assigned as centre in-charge, and block officers and
sub-division officers have been nominated as nodal officers to oversee the
smooth conduct of the program. Also, the officials from headquarter will
supervise and monitor the centres, the release mentions.
On the
first day, the coaching centres were visited by district officials, subdivision
officials, and block-level officials to monitor the setup. The inaugural
programme in some centres was also visited by panchayats and SMC members. The
coaching classes commenced on time, with all main subjects being taught to the
students, as per the scheduled routine.
A virtual
meeting was also conducted today, attended by Education minister, Education
ACS, School Education secretary, district heads, and all the Centre in-charges
from the district. The meeting was held to review the program's implementation
and ensure the successful preparation of the students for the upcoming board
exams with a goal of achieving a 100% pass result.
The Chief
Minister’s Mentorship Programme aims to provide academic support to students,
empowering them with the necessary guidance and skills to excel in their board
exams.
