GANGTOK, : The EIECOS+1, an umbrella
organisation of 12 left-out Sikkimese communities pursuing ST status demand,
has strongly condemned the divisive comments made against the Khas community by
Samson Tamang.
“Recently,
an ill-willed person, Samsung Tamang, with intentions of dividing our social
fabric, targeted the Khas community and made divisive comments against it. EIECOS+1
strongly condemn the statement and stands with our Khas community brethren
during these times,” said EIECOS+1 in a press statement today.
We
urge the police authorities to expedite the arrest of the culprit who has
spread communal venom and hatred against the Khas community of Sikkim, demanded
the organisation.
“We
stand strongly with our Khas brothers and sisters and hope that arresting the
man and giving him the strictest punishment would be an example for anyone
trying to break the fabric of the brotherhood of Sikkim,” said EIECOS+1.
