GEYZING, : In order to systemize the employees’ attendance in the department and
to promote punctuality amongst them, the Forest department under Geyzing
territorial division has introduced Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance system
at its office of Geyzing district administration centre.
Launched
last year as a mandatory initiative to aware the people about the way to
approach the Forest department regarding numerous beneficial initiatives and
the rules to be abide by and their roles as the citizen for conservation of
forest and wildlife, a 'citizen charter' providing detailed information related
to the department has also been installed outside the office of the territorial
division.
Divisional
Forest Officer Kshitij Saxena, speaking on significance of
Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance system, maintained that it was an
initiative to systemize the attendance with assured accuracy and to promote punctuality
amongst the employees. He expressed that the system helped for the registration
of attendance of employees with guaranteed accuracy as the system works in
Aadhaar enabled way and the system would promote punctuality amongst the
employees working under the department.
On
differences witnessed in the punctuality of employees before and after the
installation of the biometric attendance system in the office, Saxena
maintained that the difference was definitely positive. He added the establishment
of the biometric attendance system has given an extra responsibility to the
employees to be the first in the office to register their attendance and such
competition amongst the employees came as a positive change.
“The
system also helps the employees get more aware about the importance of
reporting to duty on time”, Saxena said.
On
‘citizen charter’, the DFO informed that the ‘citizen charter’ has been given a
place in a written form at the office premises to provide necessary information
about various welfare initiatives of the Forest department, rules to be
followed by the citizens while approaching for the Forest department related
matter and about their responsibility in preserving forest and wildlife. He
maintained that the 'citizen charter' aimed awareness amongst the people to
know the different norms set under forest and wildlife.
Assistant
Conservator of Forest (ACF) Pradeep Subba called the initiatives taken by
Geyzing territorial division as commendable and constructively effective.
