SILIGURI,: North Bengal University hosted it’s first-ever ‘North Bengal University Campus Carnival’ today, providing students and research scholars of the university a platform to showcase their creative and entrepreneurship skills.
More than 50 stalls were put up by students from Botany, Law, Technology and other departments, farmers, artists and traders.
NBU registrar Dr. Nupur Das said, “We are overwhelmed and thank students for organizing and making the event a historic one. We haven't formally inaugurated the carnival as all are guests and the carnival is everyone’s event.”
The crowd was overwhelming and food items of maximum stalls were finished by afternoon. “We were surprised to see the crowd and support from the students, guests and common people including tourists who visited the carnival,” said Amirender Pandey, the technical assistant at Centre of Floriculture and Agri-Business Management (COFAM).
Along with COFAM, BSF’s Kadamtala headquarter also supported the event by providing tents, chairs and tables and other logistic supports.
