MSU cultural festival 'Expressions' kicks off?

GANGTOK, : Medhavi Skills University (MSU) kicked off its annual cultural festival ‘Expressions 2025’ at its Topakhani campus on Friday. The two-day extravaganza was inaugurated by the university’s co-founder and pro-chancellor, Kuldip Sharma in the presence of chancellor Pravesh Dudani and other officials of the university.

Established in Delhi in 2012, MSU has built a strong reputation for delivering government-supported skill development and education programs across India. Its growing international presence now includes campuses in Germany, Australia, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

In his keynote address, chief guest Kuldip Sharma reaffirmed the university’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. He underscored MSU’s distinctive model that combines academic learning with hands-on experience, preparing students for the evolving demands of the workforce. “Our curriculum is co-developed with industry partners to ensure it is relevant, dynamic, and future-ready,” he stated.

Sharma further highlighted MSU’s unique structure, wherein students undertake mandatory on-the-job training as part of their three-year degree program. This immersive approach not only equips students with practical skills but also provides them with a stipend, fostering financial independence and professional readiness.

Sharma also lauded ‘Expressions’ as a platform that embodies MSU’s core values—student autonomy, cultural celebration, and experiential learning. “Events like ‘Expressions’ reflect our belief in holistic education—developing not just skilled professionals, but confident leaders and thoughtful change-makers,” he remarked. Special appreciation was extended to the student-led organizing committees for curating a high-caliber event marked by unity, creativity, and enthusiasm.

The opening day of ‘Expressions 2025’ featured a dynamic lineup of performances ranging from musical acts and traditional dance to slam poetry and contemporary showcases. The highlight of the evening was the ‘Battle of the Bands’, which brought together talented groups from regional institutes including ATTC, CCCT, Namchi Government College and Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. The festivities culminated in an electrifying performance by DJ Jenny.
