GANGTOK, : The SFA ‘A’ Division S-League 2024 concluded on Wednesday here at
Paljor Stadium with Sikkim Police declared as the champions of the State’s top
football league.
Sikkim
Olympic Association president KuberBhandari, the chief guest for the final day,
handed over the trophy, medals, and prize money of Rs. 2 lakh to Sikkim Police
as the league champions.
PranubLimboo
from Brotherhood FC received the ‘Golden Glove’ award for his exceptional
goalkeeping during the league while Karma ThendupBhutia from the same club won
the ‘Golden Boot’ award as the league’s highest goal scorer.
Howlers
SC Singtam received the ‘Fair Play’ award for their exemplary sportsmanship and
discipline.
Two
matches were played on the final day.
In
the first match, Sikkim Aakraman and Brotherhood FC played a 1-1 draw.
In
the second game, Sikkim Boys scored a dominant 6-1 victory over Howlers SC,
Singtam.
As
the season concluded, the two bottom-placed teams Kumar Sporting Club and
Sikkim Boys FC have been relegated from SFA ‘A’ Division
to ‘B’ Division, making way for new teams to compete in the next edition,
informed the SFA.
