Army provides two critical care ambulances for Duga

Pakyong,(IPR): On the occasion commemorating International Human Rights Day, dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights globally, a significant event transpired under the auspices of the SADBHAVANA project.  

The Tri Shakti Corps, Indian Army announced the provision of two critical care ambulances to address the health and wellness needs of patients in the Duga Block, with the aim of enhancing healthcare accessibility. The ceremony was presided over by Colonel Preeti Kunwar, Commanding Officer. She was accompanied by Major Sanya, SADBHAVANA Officer; Major Pratap Gurung, the ADM Officer; and SO Ujjal Sharma. 

The event was also graced by the presence of Mr TR Chettri, BDO Pakyong, along with the Panchayat Presidents and members from West Pendam GPU and Central Pendam GPU, Dr Nikhil Topden Bhutia, Medical Officer In-Charge of Rangpo, senior citizens from the block, along with administrative staff from the Duga Block Administrative Centre. 

During the programme, keys to the two ambulances were formally handed over by the army dignitary to the Panchayat President and the head of the office of the Health and Wellness Centre for both GPUs.

As a part of the ceremony, medical kits were distributed to ten senior citizens, aimed at providing essential medical supplies and ensuring that elderly members of the community receive the necessary care.
