GANGTOK, : A BJP Sikkim delegation led by Prakash Tanwar, member of the National
Pravash team, along with Pempo Lepcha, BJP district president, called on
Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan here on Monday.
During
the meeting, the delegation submitted a copy of the resolutions adopted by the
Sikkim BJP on the occasion of its 46th Foundation Day, a press release informs.
These
resolutions were framed with a forward-looking vision, especially in light of
the upcoming 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s integration with the Indian Union.
The
BJP delegation also apprised the Governor about the Sewa and Sampark Abhiyan, an
initiative aimed at connecting people in Sikkim with central government welfare
schemes, promoting inclusivity and social welfare. They also extended
appreciation and gratitude to the Governor for his outreach efforts across the State,
ensuring citizens' welfare.
Earlier
in the day, BJP members across the State paid heartfelt tributes to
Dr.Bhimrao Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, on his
birth anniversary. Commemorative events were held at the BJP party offices,
reaffirming the party's commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution,
the release mentions.
