GANGTOK, : Four students from Baha’i Senior
Secondary School, Tadong will represent Sikkim in the CBSE Adolescent
Leadership Summit on Life Skills, Mental Health, Safety, and Well-Being 2023 in
New Delhi.
The quartet – Sandhya Pradhan, Logen
Tshering, Liza Bermin Lepcha and Diki Palmu Bhutia – will delve into various
aspects of understanding adolescence during the three-day summit starting on
December 19. The agenda includes learning essential life skills, mental health
awareness, safety and overall well-being in school. The students, recognized as
peer leaders, will also share their experiences as peer educators.
The students are being guided by their
teacher and mentor Pramila Sharma, who stated, “It is an opportunity for the
students to take part in this kind of national summit where students can learn
so many things and they can also share their experience with other peer groups
in the summit.”
The summit, organized by CBSE in
collaboration with Expressions India, aims to bring together schools affiliated
with CBSE to share best practices in enriching adolescent life skills. It will
take place at the National Bal Bhawan in Delhi.
“This is the first time we are taking
part in this national-level summit, but the school plans to participate in this
kind of national-level summit every year for the benefit and overall
development of children,” added Sharma.
