GEYZING, : Chief Minister P.S. Golay on
Monday issued a stern warning against individuals who have allegedly purchased
inverters from economically disadvantaged beneficiaries. These inverters were
distributed under a government welfare initiative aimed at supporting the underprivileged.
Addressing a public function at
Mangalbaria, the Chief Minister stated that strict legal action would be taken
against those who exploit the financial hardships of poor beneficiaries by
purchasing government-provided inverters at reduced prices. While acknowledging
that some recipients may have sold the inverters due to financial compulsion,
Golay made it clear that the buyers, who took advantage of the situation, will
be held legally accountable.
“The government will initiate
an investigation through a legal authority into the sale and purchase of
inverters distributed to needy individuals. The buyers will face legal
consequences following a thorough inquiry,” Golay stated.
He further urged those who have
bought the inverters to return them to the original beneficiaries in order to
avoid legal repercussions.
The Chief Minister also
appealed to the public not to sell items such as inverters and GCI sheets
provided by the government, as these are intended to uplift their economic
condition.
