GANGTOK, :Governor Om Prakash Mathur today inaugurated the new building of Acharya Mahapragya Eye Hospital in the tribal rural area of Vagdari in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan.
The Governor expressed his appreciation for the head of the institution, Padma ShriMoolchandLodha, and praised his significant contributions to society, informs a Raj Bhawan release. He highlighted that Lodha has made a remarkable contribution towards society by constructing an eye hospital and hostel in a remote tribal area. He also expressed his deep appreciation that Lodha has been dedicated to this noble work for the past 25 years,
During the event, the Governor formally commenced the program by offering floral tributes at the statue of Swami Vivekananda located within the premises. The Governor also donated cheque of Rs. 11 lakh to the eye hospital. He also assured that his support for social development in Rajasthan will always continue.
Furthermore, the Governor expressed his happiness that this eye hospital will provide essential eye care services to thousands of people in the region, bringing a positive change to their lives.
Additionally, he highlighted several significant initiatives of Sikkim, such as organic farming, women empowerment and the various steps taken by the Government of Sikkim for environmental conservation. He mentioned that Sikkim is emerging as a leading State in several areas across the country and is making a significant contribution to the nation's development. He also urged the people of Rajasthan to adopt the Sikkim model of development, the release adds.
