GANGTOK, :Indian Premier
League defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders’ trophy tour made a stop at
Gangtok on Friday, giving local fans a chance to witness the silverware up
close.
This
is for the first time in history that an IPL franchise is organising a trophy
tour beyond their home city. Gangtok is the fifth stop on the KKR’s nine-city
trophy tour which began on February 14 from Guwahati and will conclude in
Kolkata on March 16.
The
tour began in Gangtok with special visits to Rumtek Monastery and Do
DrulChortenat Deorali. The trophy was then showcased at West Point Mall,
offering fans a unique opportunity to experience the splendour of KKR’s recent
IPL victory.
