GANGTOK,: Governor Om Prakash Mathur today granted an audience to Laghu Udyog
Bharati delegation at Raj Bhavan this evening.
The Laghu
Udyog Bharati team had prominent businessmen, including the former National
President of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Om Prakash Mittal; National Secretary Praveen
Agarwal; General Secretary of the Bengal unit, Vipin Singhal; and several other
distinguished industry leaders.
Laghu
Udyog Bharati is a national association dedicated to entrepreneurship and
small-scale industries; it also aims to align with the State’s vision for
sustainable development, a Raj Bhavan release informs.
During the
meeting, the official announcement of the establishment of the Laghu Udyog
Bharati, Sikkim Chapter was made, where Ashish Maurya was named president and
Rakesh Agarwal was named as general secretary.
The former
president of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Om Prakash Mittal, presented a detailed
report on the organization's activities across the country. He mentioned that
the formation of the Sikkim chapter marked the establishment of the 204th unit
of the organization at the national level.
In his
address, the Governor highlighted the Sikkim's enormous potential for
industrial growth. He underscored the importance of the local chapter of Laghu
Udyog Bharati engaging actively with local entrepreneurs to foster growth.
The
Governor further urged the organization to leverage Sikkim’s abundant natural
resources and explore the significant opportunities available in rural areas,
which can be effectively realized through the efforts of Laghu Udyog Bharati.
He also encouraged all to work jointly to contribute to making Sikkim more
self-reliant.
Mittal
also introduced the newly appointed president, general secretary, and treasurer
of the Sikkim chapter to the Governor where the Governor extended his heartfelt
congratulations and best wishes to them as they take on their new
responsibilities, the Raj Bhavan release informs.
