PAKYONG,: A 2.5 km rural road connecting Chalamthang to Lower Tareythang
under Rhenock constituency was inaugurated by the Chief Minister’s advisor
Bishnu Kumar Khatiwara on Tuesday. The newly inaugurated road also consists of
two 30-m span steel bridges over Narey Khola and Durey Khola.
The
inauguration was done to mark the 25th year of PMGSY in presence of
Pakyong upa-adhyaksha Prabha Pradhan, Taza Amba zilla panchayat Dr. Subhatra
Dangal, SE TN Adhikari, Pakyong SDM Dakman Subba, panchayats and local
residents.
Rural
Development AE Deepak Gurung shared that the rural road along with two steel
bridges was constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.41 crore and provides a stable
connectivity to the villages under Chalamthang Pachyekhani and Taza Ambu GPUs.
Khatiwara
thanked the Rural Development department and concerned contractor for
constructing the new road and the two steel bridges within the specified
period, benefiting the local public. He also thanked Chief Minister PS Golay,
also the area MLA of Rhenock constituency, for addressing the needs of the
public.
The road
from Chalamthang to Lower Tareythang was totally cut-off due to severe
landslides of Kit Golai. Due to the re-alignment and efforts put in by the
engineers, the road is made possible to connect with nearby villages.
Local
public who had lost their hopes for road connectivity expressed their happiness
to the department, area MLA-cum-Chief Minister PS Golay, and the contractor
after benefiting with the road connectivity.
