GANGTOK,: Sikkim Football Association (SFA) president Menla Ethenpa is
representing India in the 35th Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
Congress taking place at Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia from April 11 to 13.
The
three-member team led by AIFF president Kalyan Choubey and treasurer K Ajay
will representing India in the AFC Congress. Ethenpa is also the AIFF finance
committee chairperson.
A
press release informs that this AFC Congress is important in view of the 23rd
FIFA World Cup to be held in USA, Canada and Mexico during June-July 2026.
Forty-eight teams are participating in the FIFA World Cup for the first time in
a new format.
The
SFA expressed happiness on its president being selected to represent India in
the international forum like AFC, the release mentions.
