GANGTOK, (IPR): Rajnath Singh, India's Raksha Mantri, is set to visit Sikkim on October 11-12, and in anticipation of the forthcoming visit, preparations are already underway.

To ensure a seamless trip, R Telang, additional Chief Secretary of the Home department, convened a high-level preparatory meeting today at Tashiling Secretariat's conference hall. The meeting had the presence of Heads of Departments (HoDs) of various government departments and key officials from various sectors to ensure a successful and well-coordinated visit.

The meeting's primary objective was to create a collaborative framework among various departments to ensure a successful visit for the Raksha Mantri, Government of India, in the state. This framework aimed to facilitate interdepartmental synergy, addressing all aspects of the Raksha Mantri's itinerary.

To achieve this, the meeting focused on establishing clear communication channels, defining roles and responsibilities, and setting project goals.

R Telang emphasized the importance of streamlining security arrangements, traffic management, and logistical preparations to accommodate the high-profile event.

He outlined the detailed program for the two days, paying particular attention to the minute-by-minute schedule of events that Raksha Mantri will attend. He directed officials to ensure that all necessary security protocols are in place, both at the venues of the events and along the routes that will be taken by the Defence Minister.

The Police department was instructed to devise comprehensive traffic management plans, considering the anticipated movement of dignitaries and the potential disruptions to regular traffic flow.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the logistical requirements, including accommodation, transportation, and protocol arrangements for the visiting dignitaries and accompanying officials. The concerned departments were asked to ensure all arrangements are in line with protocol and that they are well-prepared for any unforeseen contingencies.

Telang laid emphasis on interdepartmental coordination, particularly between government and defence authorities, to avoid any communication or execution gaps. To ensure a successful visit of Raksha Mantri, officials have been directed to collaborate closely with their Defence Ministry counterparts and maintain a heightened level of preparedness to provide a pleasant and productive experience for Raksha Mantri and his team.
