GANGTOK,: Sikkim Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya today paid a visit to Maha Kaal
Mandir in Darjeeling to seek blessings from Maha Kaal. During this visit, he
offered prayers for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of Sikkim and its
people.
The
Governor also visited the Japanese Temple and Darjeeling Peace Pagoda, where he
offered further prayers.
Subsequently,
he visited the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling, where he
was warmly welcomed. It was followed by a short screening of a documentary
featuring a mountaineering expedition, and the Governor was briefed by Group
Commander Jai Kishan from HMI.
The
Governor applauded the institute's members for their heroic deeds and
contributions to the nation and the world. He noted that the HMI museum is a
historical treasure, preserving the rich history of mountaineering.
The
Governor also paid his respects at Tenzing Sherpa's cemetery, a Raj Bhawan
