GANGTOK,: Indra Hang Subba, Lok Sabha MP from Sikkim, on Saturday attended the first day of the study visit of the Parliamentary Committee on Estimates.
The visit, which took place in Mumbai, included two significant interaction meetings aimed at fostering insightful discussions on key governance issues and sectoral advancements, a press release informs.
The first meeting was held with the representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, along with senior officials from leading public sector enterprises such as ONGC, BPCL, and HPCL.
The session focused on addressing challenges and exploring future strategies in the petroleum and natural gas sector, particularly in the areas of energy security, sustainability, and technological advancements. The discussion also highlighted the role of these organizations in contributing to the nation's energy needs while ensuring environmental responsibility.
Following this, a second interactive session took place with representatives from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), and the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
The meeting explored urban infrastructure development in Mumbai, with a focus on transportation projects, particularly the metro rail initiatives. The discussions also included strategies for improving urban mobility, addressing infrastructure challenges, and ensuring effective coordination between various stakeholders.
