GANGTOK,: The Department of Commerce & Industries, Government of Sikkim, led
a delegation of promising startups from Sikkim to participate in the
prestigious Startup Mahakumbh held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from April 3
to 5 under the RAMP Scheme.
A
press release from Commerce & Industries department on Monday informs that
the Sikkim delegation included Agapi, Soielife, Katana, Mokawaii, Healbridge
and Topview Info Labs (Ourguest) who showcased cutting-edge solutions across
sectors, earning recognition for their unique business models and sustainable
approaches.
Among
the startups was Topview Info Labs Pvt Ltd, operating as Ourguest Travels which
made the State proud by winning the National Maharathi Challenge in the
Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) category.
Ourguest
Travels, founded by Karma Tsechutharpa and Pintso Gyatso, received recognition
from Union Minister of Commerce and Industries, Piyush Goyal, for their
outstanding achievement and dedication to community led development, the
release mentions.
As
the first Online Travel Aggregator (OTA) from Northeast India, Ourguest offers
a curated collection of homestays, farmstays, resorts, and guided experiences
across Sikkim, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, North Bengal, Nagaland, Ladakh,
Assam and Jammu & Kashmir, with over 600 homestays and 50+ guides in its
network.
The
company was also awarded the Best Tour Operator, Sikkim in 2024 by the Sikkim
State Tourism department.
Startup
Mahakumbh is a flagship event under the Ministry of Commerce & Industries
that celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship, providing a platform for
startups to showcase their ideas, network, and grow.
The
Startup Maharathi Challenge is one of the flagship initiatives under Startup
Mahakumbh 2025, aimed at discovering, showcasing, and supporting India’s most
promising early and growth-stage startups across 10 high-impact sectors, the
release mentions.
This
year saw more than 3000 startups, 1000 investors, and10000 participants and is
the biggest startup event in the country. This high-impact platform is designed
to identify and accelerate India’s most promising early to growth-stage DPIIT
recognized startups across many upcoming sectors.
The
participation of multiple Sikkim-based startups at Startup Mahakumbh reflects
the State’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. Initiatives like the
Startup Mahakumbh have enabled startup to gain national visibility and access
to a pool of mentorship and funding opportunities, the release mentions.
