GANGTOK,: On the final day of filing
nominations for the bye-election of Namchi-Singhithang constituency, Mahesh Rai
of Citizen Action Party (CAP) Sikkim submitted his nomination at the office of
Returning Officer, Namchi on Friday.
To date,
nominations have been submitted by three regional political parties. There are four candidates including a
substitute candidate from the SDF.
The candidates
are Satish Chandra Rai from SKM, Mahesh Rai from CAP Sikkim, and Daniel Rai and
Yojana Rai (substitute candidate) from SDF.
The scrutiny of
nominations is scheduled for October 28 and the last date for withdrawal of
candidature is October 30.
The polling
date is on November 13.
