NAMCHI, (IPR): Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey,
visited Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Suntaley as part of his
official tour. During his visit, he inspected the classrooms and other school
facilities.
EMRS
principal Dr Amar Kanti Jana delivered a PowerPoint presentation outlining the
overview of school and its progress.
Addressing
th e teaching and administrative staff, the MoS suggested involving students in
agricultural and management activities to help them develop essential life
skills and promote self-reliance. He encouraged on providing nutritious meals
to support the physical and mental well-being of the students.
Additionally,
he advocated for initiatives to prepare students for participation in various
competitive fields, expressing the aim of developing EMRS into a leading
institution in the country.
As
part of his Sikkim tour, the minister is scheduled to visit Soreng district
tomorrow.
The
visit was attended by Area MLA NB Pradhan, Namchi Zilla Adakshya Anjita Rajalim,
Social Welfare secretary Sarika Pradhan, special secretary Suman Gurung, Namchi DC Anupa Tamling,
Namchi ADC Tirsang Tamang, Namchi SDM Nim Pintso Bhutia and other officials.
