SORENG, (IPR): The 1st Open Badminton Tournament 2025 continued on its third
day at Jautar Indoor Stadium, Soreng. Players and teams competed intensely to
secure their place in the finals scheduled for April 15.
The
tournament was attended by Jacob Khaling, political secretary to the Chief
Minister and president of the Badminton Association of Sikkim.
Dhiraj
Subedi, District Collector, attended as the chief guest, accompanied by special
guest Mamita Gurung, deputy director (Sports), and Kumar Subba, DPO (Zilla).
Their presence highlighted the event’s significance in the community.
A
cash prize of Rs. 3,00,000 will be awarded to the winners concluding
the tournament tomorrow and adding to the excitement surrounding the
tournament. The event has showcased the growing enthusiasm for badminton in
Sikkim and the skills of its participants.
