SILIGURI,: BJP MP Raju Bista, who is seeking re-election from Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat, today said that he will file a defamation case against BJP Kurseong MLA BP Bajgain who is contesting as an impendent candidate.
Bista alleged that Bajgain has been spreading false information about him, aiming to tarnish his reputation ahead of the elections. He also requested the Election Commission to take strict action against Bajgain.
In a statement issued today, Bista said that Bajgain has recently been attempting to mislead the voters and subvert the democratic process by defaming him and presenting misleading facts and unfounded insinuations.
Bista also clarified that he has never been part of “Jal Jeevan Mission Planning and Monitoring Committee” in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts or the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration. Further, he denied any connection with M/S Surya India Private Limited Company, emphasizing that it is unrelated to the company he works for, Surya Roshni Ltd.
