The BRO additional director general and engineering cell officials briefed the Lok Sabha MP on the ongoing restoration and realignment of roads along Toong- Naga, Chungthang-Lachen and Lachen-Zeema-Thangu stretches in North Sikkim.

The permanent restoration of roads leading to North Sikkim is our highest priority, as it concerns national security of India as well as the well-being of the people of North Sikkim, said Indra Hang in a social media statement.

He also took up the concerns of residents of Dzuluk, Pakyong district.

“We also discussed regarding the concerns raised by public of Dzuluk regarding alignment of proposed double lane road, which allegedly would affect the beautiful Silk Route which is a major tourist attraction. The officer in-charge in Sikkim has assured a meeting to explain the alignment in the area in detail. I hope that an amicable solution will be arrived at and the concerns of the people of Dzuluk will be redressed,” said the Lok Sabha MP.
