GANGTOK, (IPR): Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay visited and paid last
tribute to Late Padma Shri Tula Ram Upreti today at his residence at Assam
Lingzey.
On
behalf of the people of Sikkim, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt
condolences to his family, friends, and well-wishers.
As
a mark of respect to the noble departed soul, the last rites of Padma Shri late
Tula Ram Upreti was observed with full State honours at Shantighaat, Jalipool.
A
ceremonial guard of honour was presented by the platoons of the Sikkim Armed
Police (SAP) as a mark of respect for his contributions.
The
Chief Minister lauded Padma Shri Tula Ram Upreti as a
pioneer in agriculture and organic farming, highlighting his instrumental role
in Sikkim’s sustainability journey. He noted that Upreti’s dedication to
traditional farming practices has inspired generations and brought immense
pride to the State.
The
Chief Minister emphasized that Upreti’s legacy will continue to guide future
generations toward prosperity and sustainability.
The
Speaker, ministers, senior officials, and dignitaries joined family members,
locals, and well-wishers to pay their last respects.
