GANGTOK,
: Denzong Boys FC has won the ‘C’ Division S-League 2023-24 league with
an undefeated season amassing 21 points, the maximum from its seven matches,
and gaining promotion to ‘B’ Division for next season.
Giving
chase was JVC Singtam garnering 15 points, who secured the second promotion
berth to the B-Division, informs a SFA release.
On
Thursday, the concluding day of the league saw Denzong Boyz FC defeating
Chujachen SA comfortably with a 7-2 margin, and a stalemate being played
between Pegong SC and Majhitar SC with 3 goals for each team.
The ‘Golden
Glove Award’ for the league was presented to Denzong Boyz FC custodian
Priyanshu Golwa, who had 4 clean sheets to his name. The ‘Golden Boot Award’
was given to Denzong Boyz playmaker Gyurmey Sangay Bhutia for amassing a total
of 13 goals, having scored 4 goals in the last game.
The Fair
Play award was presented to Sikkim Dragon FC, amassing a score on the
Competition Management System generated score of 9.5, followed by Pegong SC
with a score of 9.46.
The newly
promoted teams now shall play in the following B-Division 2024-25 season slated
to take place as the first calendar League for SFA for the footballing year
2024-25 in June, the release informs.
