SFA holds pre-season meeting with B Division clubs, Thupden Rapgyal Memorial Championship postponed to June second week

GANGTOK,: The Sikkim Football Association (SFA) held a pre-season meeting for the B Division clubs at Football House here on May 13 to discuss various technical and logistical aspects pertaining to the B Division league prior to commencement of the season.

Present in the meeting were Northerners FC, Sang Mustang FC, Sikkim Boys FC, Red Panda FC, Boys Club of Gangtok, and Sanju Football Academy, a SFA release informs. The SFA was represented by its general secretary Phurba Sherpa, treasurer Susan Tamang and vice president Chewang Paul.

The SFA general secretary welcomed the clubs and brought to the notice of the clubs that Sang Mustang FC has been granted promotion owing to non-participation of SAI Namchi in the premier league owing to change in policy of scholarship student intake.

Sherpa informed the teams that the regulations must be stringently followed, and to this effect, the competition department would ensure that rules are enforced strictly both for clubs as well as officials. He declared that the league will be using the Nivia Dominator 3.0 as the official league ball, and all teams must register C License coaches as it is the mandate of the AIFF.

It was also discussed amongst the competition committee for Thupden Rapgyal Memorial Championship for U-15 Boys that a further extension of up to May 31 be granted as many teams have requested for the same. The championship is now slated to commence from the second week of June, the SFA release informs.
