GANGTOK, :The inaugural Sikkim Blue Duke
Festival, a three-day event celebrating technology, culture and food, will be
held at Saramsa Garden from February 14 to 16. Organized by Sikkim365 with
support from State Tourism Department, the festival aims to inspire students
and young people to explore new ideas and dream big.
Initiated by LokSabha MP Indra
Hang Subba, the festival is inspired by Blue duke, theState butterfly of
Sikkim.“Just like the Blue duke butterfly, students symbolize transformation,
freedom, and limitless potential. The butterfly’s journey mirrors the path of a
student — full of growth, creativity, and big dreams. It is our aim to
encourage our students to spread their wings, explore new ideas, and embrace
the future with confidence through this festival,” the organisers said.
A major highlight of the
festival is technology, where experts will introduce students to Artificial
Intelligence (AI), drones and robotics. “The world is
being driven by these technologies, and Sikkim cannot afford to be left out. We
believe that this upcoming event is a great chance to learn about the future of
technology and how it works for our highly creative Sikkimese students,” said
Indra Hang Subba.
The event will also feature a
food segment, bringing top chefs from Sikkim, the Northeast and beyond to
showcase unique regional flavours.
Additionally, there will be
live music performances from renowned artists, making it a complete blend of
learning, networking and entertainment.
“Entrepreneurs and youth of
Sikkim will also get a chance to meet industry leaders in areas like
entertainment, technology, and food. This event is a great opportunity to get
advice, ask questions, and learn from experienced professionals who can guide
our youth on starting their own business,” shares Indra Hang.
