GANGTOK,: A 22-member Sikkim football team left for Agartala on Thursday to participate in the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2024-25.
The Sikkim team is accompanied by head coach Puspa Gurung, assistant coach Alpan Lepcha, manager Sujana Rai and physiotherapist Dr. Dechen Lhamu Bhutia.
The Sikkim Football Association (SFA) had held a 15-day camp before the final 22 players were selected for the national championship.
Sikkim is placed in a pool featuring Gujarat, Tripura and Chandigarh. Sikkim plays its opening game against Gujarat on October 20 followed by the matches against the host State on October 22 and Chandigarh on October 24.
The SFA has extended its best wishes to the State team for the prestigious tournament.
