GANGTOK,: Red Panda FC has lifted the S-League B Division 2024-25 in an
undefeated fashion and secured a berth in the next season’s Sikkim Premier
League organised by Sikkim Football Association (SFA).
In the
final league match played on Thursday at Paljor Stadium here, Red Panda scored
a 5-1 victory over Denzong Boyz FC with a hattrick from Kunzaman Thapa and a
brace from Ram Kazi Chettri.
With this
victory, Red Panda FC amassed 25 points to top the points tally and become the
league champions. Northerners FC came second with 18 points, also securing
promotion to next year’s Sikkim Premier League.
Gangtok
MLA Delay Namgyal Barfungpa was the special guest for today’s match which was
also attended by Sikkim Olympic Association president Kuber Bhandari and Sports
additional director RB Biswakarma.
A cash
prize of Rs. 1 lakh along with a trophy was presented to the winners.
Red Panda
FC also took home the individual honours with goalkeeper Inchen Dorjee Tamang
receiving the ‘Golden Glove Award’ and Kunjaman Thapa taking the ‘Golden Boot’
award with 13 goals, informs the SFA.
