GANGTOK,: Ruling SKM secretary general Arun Upreti on Wednesday visited the Rholu premises to oversee the preparations for the upcoming 16th Rholu Diwas 2024.
During his inspection, the SKM secretary general closely reviewed various arrangements including stage setup, pandal construction, fooding, sanitation, water supply, electrical works, traffic management and other essential services. He was accompanied by several party workers actively involved in the preparation process, a SKM release informs.
The SKM party is set to organize the 16th edition of Rholu Diwas on December 21.
Rholu holds a special historical significance for the SKM as it was on this very day in 2009 that party leader and Chief Minister P.S. Golay initiated “Mission Parivartan.”
As an annual tradition, the event will commence with a holy puja at the Rholu Mandir at 8 am, followed by a grand public address by the Chief Minister and SKM president P.S. Golay. This year’s Rholu Diwas is particularly important, as it will be celebrated after the formation of the SKM government’s second term, the release mentions.
During the inspection, the SKM secretary general interacted with frontline party workers, expressing satisfaction with their progress and encouraging them to leave no stone unturned in ensuring a successful event. He further informed that the party will hold a final preparatory meeting at Rholu on December 15, the release mentions.
