GANGTOK,: Zoom-Salghari MLA Madan Cintury on Tuesday chaired a preparatory meeting with all the sub-committees of the Makar Sankranti Maghey Mela 2025 celebrations in his residence at Jorethang.
Cintury is also the chief patron of the Makar Sankranti Maghey Mela 2025 celebration committee, an IPR release from Namchi informs.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s press secretary Yougan Tamang, NJNP president Pavitra Manav, SDM Monika Rai, BDO Pramila Gurung, sub-committee members, local residents, and officers from the line departments.
During the meeting, the MLA addressed the gathering and discussed the progress report and estimates of the Makar Sankranti Maghey Mela sub-committee members positively so far.
The IPR release adds that the opening ceremony of the Chief Minister’s Gold Cup football tournament will take place on January 9.
Additionally, the local artists from Zoom-Salghari will be auditioned for the Makar Sankranti Maghey Mela programme.
The meeting decided to feature dance and songs performance by local artists, as well as singers from different States, a Battle of the Bands competition and an appearance by a Bollywood singer.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session involving sub-committee members, participants, and local residents, where representatives from various line departments also participated to facilitate the smooth organization of the upcoming Makar Sankranti Maghey Mela 2025, the IPR release mentions.
