GEYZING,: Tenzing D. Denzongpa officially assumed charge as the District Collector (DC) of Gyalshing district at the District Administrative Centre, Rabdentse near Gyalshing town on Thursday.
A seasoned State Civil Service (SCS) officer, Denzongpa brings extensive administrative experience to his new role, having previously served as the Block Development Officer (BDO), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Additional District Collector (ADC), and director at Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) under the Rural Development department.
Denzongpa took over from outgoing DC Yishey D. Yongda, who has been transferred and posted as secretary of the State Election Commission.
On his first day in office, Denzongpa was warmly welcomed by district officials, including the ADC Gyalshing, ADC Development, SDM HQ, and SDM Gyalshing. Local residents, zilla and gram panchayat members, and well-wishers, along with members of the public, also visited his office to extend their congratulations.
Maneybong-Dentam MLA and Tourism & Civil Aviation advisor Sudesh Kumar Limboo personally met the DC and offered his best wishes for a successful tenure.
After assuming the office, the DC conducted inspections of various sections within the administrative centre, including accounts, engineering, and administrative units. He interacted with the staff, reviewed ongoing work, and assessed the status of ongoing projects.
Speaking to the media, new district collector Tenzing D. Denzongpa emphasized his commitment to prioritizing education, healthcare, tourism, and rural development. He assured that all State and central government projects and welfare schemes will be implemented effectively for public benefit.
Drawing from his experience in the Rural Development department, the new DC vowed to focus on rural infrastructure and development.
“I will continue with all the ongoing projects initiated by my predecessor, Yishey D. Yongda, while also introducing new initiatives to accelerate development in the district,” said Denzongpa.
