GANGTOK, : The two-day Sadhbhawana Sammelan organised by Manav Uthan Sewa
Samiti (MUSS) at Salugara, Siliguri commenced on Sunday. MUSS founder Satpal
Maharaj inaugurated the event, a press release informs.
In his
inaugural address, Satpal Maharaj urged the gathering to spread the message of
harmony among the masses. He also stressed on the need to protect and promote
language, literature and culture.
Satpal
Maharaj spoke about his contributions towards the Nepali language recognition
movement during which he had done a foot march from Siliguri to Gangtok. Nepali
language got Constitutional recognition after a long struggle and hence, we
must all work to advance the language further, he expressed.
After the
inauguration programme, the Manav Sewa Dal members from Darjeeling, Sikkim and
Dooars took part in the parade after which cultural presentations were made in
Nepali, Hindi and other languages.
The
evening programme had the special presence of Sikkim Chief Minister PS Golay,
